In addition to processing quantitative data from the School Census, the Stimulus Institute conducted pilot diagnoses in Duque de Caxias, Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro, Teresópolis, Niterói and São Gonçalo, in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

These diagnoses were used to identify the profile and needs of educational institutions in each region, in order to select those that would be served by PAECC. Based on the results of the diagnoses, we selected the daycare centers with the greatest difficulty in offering continuous training to their professionals to participate in the program.

In addition to the pilot diagnoses, the Stimulus Institute is designing extensive field research, by sampling, to collect qualitative information about community institutions (daycare centers and preschools) in Rio de Janeiro.

Our intention, once the work is completed, is not only to disseminate it, but also to share the diagnosis and methodology available to any interested parties, so that it can be replicated in other regions of the country.
